![]() I miss having Rapid mode and although I get a true non rapid mode peak of roughly 510/505 R/W, there is something sad about upgrading to a new OS and finding an SSD device with a 3 year warranty being taken down several gears by software omissions after Granted, I remember watching task manager and disk speeds very carefully and the really high numbers we saw in Samsung's benchmarks were momentary peaks and short bursts, but they were there when it was needed on my system and never when it wasn't. Not a big deal 22-26seconds eh?, but we get used to performance we like, if we are one of the lucky ones it works for. The system always felt ready for anything.Īfter upgrade and non rapid magician I didn't see this SSD booting my system as fast ,I have had to disable a lot of my start up programs to get a 22-26 second boot time with daily trimming enabled in maintenance. So where Rapid shone for me was with aggressive antivirus and antimalware scans, on start-up whist still using my PC as I would at any other time. ![]() I was delighted with the speeds I had, and Win 8.1/64 was booting in 5-6 seconds with a plethora of start-up programs that I'd previously had to disable except the very lightest on a conventional hard drive. I purchased 2 x 1 TB Samsung EVO SSD's about a year ago at quite a price. My first post and theme here, I think is the feeling of having control taken away from oneself on items and services you already own or pay for.
